*DOUBLE* BOOK REVIEW: Ricochet & Addicted for Now by Krista Ritchie!

Welcome back to the best blog ever and what's that? Two reviews in one week? Yes, I'm making up for my absence.
Today I'm giving y'all a double (SPOILER FREE) review of this new series I've sacrificed my everything for. To check out my review of book #1 then please click the :)

Spoiler-free book reviews are the best, the easiest things to write. Ever.

With reference to the title because it's not at all obvious, (my mama says my sarcasm stinks O_o) I'm going to be reviewing Ricochet and Addicted for Now, respectively right now!

*Real quick: Ricochet is a bonus novel after #1 but is needed to be read to tie together #1 and #2. And who's really going to say no to extra books in this series?

Ricochet (Addicted #1.5)
22296725As a sex addict, Lily Calloway must do the impossible. Stay celibate for 90 days.

Cravings and fantasies become her new routine, but while Loren Hale recovers from his alcohol addiction, Lily wonders if he’ll realize what a monster she really is. After all, her sexual compulsions begin to rule her life the longer she stays faithful to him.

Progress. That’s what Lily’s striving for. But by trying to become closer to her family—people who aren’t aware of her addiction—she creates larger obstacles. When she spends time with her youngest sister, she learns more about her than she ever imagined and senses an unsettling connection between Daisy and Ryke Meadows.

With Lily and Lo’s dysfunctional relationship teetering and unbalanced, they will need to find a way to reconnect from miles apart. But the inability to “touch” proves to be one of the hardest tests on their road to recovery. Some love brushes the surface. Some love is deeper than skin.
Lily and Lo have three months to discover just how deep their love really goes.

I was so excited to delve deep into this book straight after the effects of the first novel. It's kinda in the blurb, so hopefully not a spoiler but Lo goes to (hint: *plays Rehab by Rihanna ft. JT)
It quickly moved time along, and I thank my holy stars that Ritchie didn't pull a Stephanie Meyer in New Moon, re: Edward's absence.

Lily lives life, in a sense that involves her recovering from her sex addiction and mending fences with her family.

My BAE Ryke is her guardian angel  (swooooon, what a gentleman *heart eyes m'f**ker) and watches over her, mainly because he doesn't trust her around the opposite gender. Their banter is hilarious and I was rooting for Raisy (we'll get to that later). However, it stung me in my heartless space when Ryke mentioned (oh, so casually, might I add) that he doesn't approve of our Li-Lo relationship.

One part that is currently on my mind for infinity is when Lily, Daisy (her youngest, fashion model, naive and dare-devily sister), Ryke and Daisy's friends go to Acapulco, Mehico to celebrate her sweet sixteen on a yacht.
THE BANTER BETWEEN RAISY WAS PRICELESS. I'm gonna try to include some quotes, but was obsessively and aggressively turning virtual pages on my poor iPhone. Despite the seven year gap between Raisy, I'm rooting for them (fun fact: I'm attracted to older guys. Not old. Older. And am holding out for their novel, Hothouse Flower).

Back to the topic at hand, Lily proved strong, even through her many moments of weakness in this novel. At the end of the day, she's an addict who needs her fix.
Rose was a doll in this book. Love her.

This novel is written in Lily's POV (I write this because the next one, is not).

All in all, it was A GREAT AND POWERFUL AND BRILLANT AND BEAUTIFUL NOVEL. It's in my top two fave in this series (I already know my #1 fave is gonna be Hothouse Flower #Raisy

*Had to get these from Goodreads rather than highlighting them on iBooks because I was SO, CONSUMED I didn't have time to stop and pick a virtual colour.

  • “You don't make me miserable. You make me want to live. And I want to live with you.”
  • “Fine. Such a stupid word really. It feels empty and weightless. It’s the kind of word you use to hide the truth.”
  • “Hate to break it to you, but sex is ten times better than skydiving.”
    “No it’s not,” she rebuts.
Ryke leans forward on his char a little. “Then whoever fucked you didn’t do it right, sweetheart.”
  • “I'd always let him catch me.”
  • ''It's what we don't say that hurts the most''
  • ''You could have died'', he growls, his eyes narrowing with such anger- I would have already cowered back. Daisy has her shoulders locked tight, her head held heigh, resolute. Ryke is right. Nothing scares her.

Onto the next review! (Awarding this one 4.5 stars)

22296819No. More. Sex.

Those are the three words Lily Calloway fears the most. But Loren Hale is determined to be with Lily without enabling her dangerous compulsions. With their new living situation—sleeping in the same bed, for real, together—Lily has new battles. Like not jumping Lo’s bones every night. Not being consumed by sex and his body.

Loren plans to stay sober, to right all of his wrongs. So when someone threatens to expose Lily’s secret to her family and the public, he promises that he’ll do anything to protect her. But with old enemies surfacing, Lo has more at stake than his sobriety.

They will torment Lily until Lo breaks.

And his worst fear isn’t relapsing. He hears the end. He sees it. The one thing that could change everything. Just three words.

No. More. Us.

This !! one !! was !! fire !!
No joke. I was getting serious Pretty Little Liars feels in this one. So basically someone know's Lily's secret! And it will ruin her dad's business and rep, Lo's dad's business and rep and everyone's businesses and reps because we're dealing with the Rich Kids of Philly...or New York, I actually don't know because the scenes change then they're soooo vague.
But anyways she's getting tormenting texts, as is Lo and even getting rather kinky packages mailed to her to spite her. Dun dun dun!

My crew band together to not only test loyalties of their enemies but also of themselves.

Now. This novel was great, to say the least. I literally finished this in two nights! It was soooo good. And to make it even better, Ryke and Daisy were f l i r t i n g eeeeeeeeeeee in Mehico eeeeeeeeee.
And he saved her from absinthe and it was effing beautiful.

The person who taunted and tormented Lily and Lo was such a shocker!! Did not see it coming, and I even tried to figure it out (kinda. Does saying oh it could be him! It could be her! To every secondary character count)

Rose, Lily, Connor, Lo and Ryke went to Mexico for Spring Break and HOLY HELL. Oh, Ryke took a somewhat-girlfriend named Melissa. And honestly, even though she was used, I would've loved to be her, just to hang out with the coolest *tear* fictional group ever.

I'm going to end it on this note: This book has beat some of my old times faves and that's rare. It'll defo be one I'll go back to just because.

Can you give a book 100 stars??

Logging off now. Stay awesome
