*DOUBLE* BOOK REVIEW: Thrive by Krista Ritchie& Becca Ritchie + Addicted After All by Krista Ritchie & Becca Ritchie

I'm back! And I'm baaaaaaaaaad.

Hi and hello to you :) Thanks for reading :)

Today I'm going to review TWO novels, Thrive by novel gods Krista and Becca Ritchie. This novel is #2.5 in the Addicted series.
I'm also going to be reviewing the conclusion to the series, Addicted to You.

Here are my reviews for the other novels in this series, with its sister series, Calloway Sisters (in chronological order, of course): Addicted to You, Ricochet, Kiss the Sky, Hothouse Flower || MORE TO COME XO!

& with that, let's start.

I wanna make this brief because I'm currently reading the next novel and I have another blog post to put up straight after.

Goodreads summary:
18479451Two years will change them forever.

When rumors spread like wildfire—like having three-ways with her boyfriend’s rock climbing brother—Lily Calloway spirals into a dark place. Her bedroom. Loren Hale is more confident and determined to keep their sex life private, even from their friends, and he helps Lily in the only way he knows how. But how much love is too much?

Their lives are filmed, watched, and criticized. And through it all, Lily and Loren have to face enemies they never thought they’d see, demons they don’t know if they should bury, and setbacks they didn’t think they’d meet. Not this soon.

And one rumor could be too much for them to handle. It will test their greatest limitations, and if they don’t hold onto each other, someone is going to drown.

A full-length New Adult Romance that bridges the gap between the second and third books.
Thrive must be read before Addicted After All if you have not read the Calloway Sisters spin-off series.

So this novel jumps us back in with our OTP ship, LiLo, Lily and Lo. It felt so good to back with the OGs. Although I was happy because I thought that their love story deserves justice, I found myself ever so slightly skimming the pages for any indication of any interaction between the other two couples. I guess there wasn't always a spark between them, not a passionate fire like Ryke and Daisy and an intellectual one like Connor and Rose.
In spite of my tragic attempt to explain that, I still love the comic book nerds that are Lo and Lily.

This novel...lol I don't actually remember the ins and outs of the plot. However, many significant...things happened. Many things that showed true, raw character development

The banter was up there, as was the great one-liners. I swear to all the stars that are and once were, I so badly want to become even a bandwagon with these six friends.

This novel- there are no formal faults that I can think of at this moment in time. It was so pleasing. Honestly, reading these novels is my peace.

One thing that confused me a bit was the time jumps. Are Raisy flirting or are they together? Y'now it spanned out quite a while, this novel did. There was a couple of points where I thought it was a bit pointless, given that the events reoccurred, just in different POVs but that wasn't the case. a). it's always better getting multiple POVs on one event b). there were tonnes of events that we didn't read about during the reality show in Kiss the Sky, e.g. bowling and finally watching one of Daisy's catwalks, GOD BLESS

I've realised that I'm going to have to SLIGHTLY spoil it for those fresh faces. Our parents Lily and Lo have a child, at around the same time Rose and Connor do. Yes, they were both accidents but they're the best parents.

Oh! And I love how Poppy and her husband Sam are becoming more involved in the storyline. They appear as slightly shallow and weak characters, as in the book can still go on with the same outcome without them, but it was nice to have them. Omg & I love the savage that is Jonathan Hale. He is a legend.

This novel was an overall good one, steady.

And that's all I have to say without giving you any spoilers. And I know this was a crappy review but still give me some love in the comments below and through social media (links below, as always)

Until I complete the next novel,
Stay great :D

Addicted After All

18308270Two addicts. One epic love story.
Prepare for the worst.

That’s what Lily and Lo try to do when Jonathan Hale schedules an “important” meeting. The problem: after being swept into the public eye and battling their addictions, they’re not sure what the worst is anymore.
In a sea of many changes—including Ryke & Daisy living with them—Lily realizes that the best part of her fluctuating hormones might just be the worst.
Her sex drive is out of control.
Loren knows that she’s insatiable, but he’s not giving up on her. She’s too much a part of him. And as he carries more and more responsibility, some of the people that he loves doubt his resolve.

In the conclusion to their love story, Lily & Lo stand side-by-side to fight, one last time, for their happily ever after.

Guys. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

How and why did I read that as panties? '298 frozen panties later' ?! Okay, it's safe to say that the Addicted series has changed me and arguably, saved me.

This novel was, in brief, a great one. It gave the series- and the characters- the justice they deserved. It was the bow on top of it all, the sprinkles and the glitter.
There was major, major character development. For example, in book #1, Loren was crazy about alcohol and put it before everyone, including Lily. And vice-versa with Lily and her sex addiction.
But in this novel, they're totally different- older, wiser and responsible. But one thing I love that stays the same is their cravings. I admired  how they are depicted as normal people, who obviously crave the center of their addictions. They are human.

Moreover with the character development I mentioned: My book bf Loren has two comicbook businesses, as well as maybe/maybe not taking over Hale Co #NoSpoilers
He's supporting his fam! I love it.
Speaking of taking over Hale Co, Daisy, Ryke, Lily and Lo each have to compete for the title of CEO and it was so fun to read! I got some Apprentice vibes (sans the current prez. The UK version lel)
With Lily there was a lot of development, but I kinda loved how she remained the same shy, awkward introvert. I'll admit that I didn't expect her to pull a Daisy and be so confident with her addiction and scream it from the rooftops.
However, she became particularly horny during pregnancy and so her habits ever so slightly returned.

With that said, Lil accidentally gets off on RYKE (but seriously, who the heck is blaming her? C'mon, fight me) but seeing as he is her bf/fiancee's big bro, I see the grossness. Anyways Ryke being Ryke (super beautiful, super fearless, stubbled, tall macho guy with chivalrous manners and having a whole other respect for women), his attempts to fix whatever's bothering her are sO ADORABLE. Honestly. I swooned

Speaking of Daisy..or Raisy- ahhh. Heart eyes all around. I swear Raisy is not only endgame but also my only OTP as of 2017 (okay, Coballoway ? and LiLo are up there too).
They're so cute !! and protective of each other !!

One thing I find rather hilarious is how these amazing twenty plus year olds (including Daisy, who is just under) dread to meet their parents after another scandal occurs. Also, how their parents react. It's all a beautiful game.

A criticism I have to get out their is that the blurb heavily focuses on the addiction part of the series, which is fine, don't get me wrong. But I fear that that's all it will be associated with. I mean, this particular novel had a plot for things other than Lily's sexual insatiability. Ya feel?
I'm gonna elaborate further (quick. Go get popcorn or any snack)
So we see the re/introduction of a character who is like a missing puzzle piece. We're talking Loren-related person (did I ruin it?)
The gang deals with common issues, like teenagers pranking them but it's waaaaaaay more than that, given that Daisy has PTSD and sleeping issues and that Rose and Lily are mothers now, so along with their significant others, they are looking after them.

Literally other than that, it deserves a book Oscar.

MY FAVOURITE QUOTES! (from both, in jumbled up order)
  • Hey, what's going on in your head?'' WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO ASK ME THIS #maybeneedy #maybenot
  • ] really enjoyed the Poppy-Lo dynamic and wished for more of it: ''You tell 'em, Poppy,'' Lo says, leaning against our dresser with crossed arms. He's smiling in amusement'. That and the adorable use of Lo always saying to her ''Just when I was starting to like you'' lolll
  • ''Cobalt,'' Ryke shouts. ''They want to know your IQ''. ''Higher than yours'' Connor needs to play nice w Ryke *pouts*
  • ''Where I vandalized houses. Where I screamed. Where I ran. Where I became a thing I hated''.
  • He was waiting for someone to end the pain of living
  • ''Look,'' he says, ''it's your birthday. I didn't get you anything-'' ''I didn't expect you to'' ''Let me fucking finish''. I roast again.
  • 'And then Ryke pops the f**king tab and takes a sip. I just shake my head. How has he not died yet? ''You didn't know what it was, and yet you still drank it?'' Connor says aloud.' LOL! Love Ryke: A six-foot-three brooding- mostly irritated- guy bounds through the door.
  • ''Hey,'' Ryke says, pelting popcorn at Daisy. A kernel hits her square in the eyeball. He doesn't apologize''. Gotta love him. And again: Ryke stares at her for a long moment before messing her hair with his hand.
  • Daisy is about to stand up, offering him the seat back, but Ryke waves her to stay there. Why do I find chivalry hot? Oh, yeh because I lack it IRL
  • LIL IS SO CUTE & AWKS: ''Maybe we should leave''. I throw it out there. Just like that. Wow that feels better. I wait for one of them to catch it.
  • Don't cry. Channel your inner Rose. Tears are for babies and losers. I wipe my eyes. I suck at being Rose.
  • ''The things we bury have a way of coming back to haunt us''
  • The spot between my legs pulses. Shut up vagina. Now I'm speaking to my vagina. Great.
I'll add some more quotes later :)

That's it for now :)

★ ★ ★ ★  5 stars!!

Long story short...
Would I read it again?
A thousand times, yes!
Would I recommend it?
Noooo but only because I want Ryke all to myself ;)

BOOK REVIEW: Hothouse Flower by Krista & Becca Ritchie

This was my highly anticipated book in this series and I'm SO incredibly excited to review it for you today!!

Where are my manners? Hello, I hope you're having a fantastic day today. I'm having a bittersweet day, given that I just finished Hothouse Flower a couple of minutes ago. Eeeeee.

Let's go down on it! ?(Not as dodgy as it meant to sound)

18308266Ryke Meadows, meet Daisy Calloway ... she’s all grown up.

Twenty-five-year-old Ryke Meadows knows he’s hard to love. With a billion-dollar inheritance, a track-star resume, and an alpha-male personality—he redefines the term likable asshole. But he’s not living to make friends. Or enemies. He just wants to free climb three of the toughest mountains in Yosemite without drama or interruption.

And then he receives a distressed call from a girl in Paris—a girl that he has never been allowed to have.

Daisy Calloway is eighteen. Finally. With her newfound independence, she can say goodbye to her overbearing mother and continue her modeling career. Next stop, Paris. Fashion Week begins with a bang, and Daisy uncovers the ugly reality of the industry. She wants to prove to her family that she can live on her own, but when everything spirals out of control, she turns to Ryke to keep her secrets.

As Daisy struggles to make sense of this new world and her freedom, she pushes the limits and fearlessly rides the edge. Ryke knows there’s deep hurt beneath every impulsive action. He must keep up with Daisy, and if he lets her go, her favorite motto—“live as if you’ll die today”—may just come true.

New Adult Romance: recommended for readers 18+ for mature content

Alrighty! So I'm pretty sure I've made it a zillion per cent clear that I was most looking forward to reading this novel, because it focuses on my #1 bookship of the moment: Raisy

nounplural raisy
the perfect relationship shared between socialites Ryke Meadows and Daisy Calloway.
of, relating to, or the perfect relationship shared between socialites Ryke Meadows and Daisy Calloway
overprotected, artificial, or unnaturally delicate. beautiful, protective, or spontaneous
Now that we've got that out of the way, let's get down to business! So originally, I was a bit curious (borderline worried), as to how a relationship will pan out between Daisy and Ryke, given that he's managed to refrain for two-ish years.

The events actually happened fittingly. So Daisy has ADD, PTSD, night terrors and insomnia as a result of her being bullied by not only the media but her 'best friends' from school. Oh, and that time that guy broke her rib outside a bar due to a teeny motorcycle incident.

As a result of her not being able to sleep more than a couple of hours a night, and with her own apartment and job, Ryke offers to help her out.
Get this: Ryke is two floors above eighteen year old Daisy and he sleeps in her bed (platonically. If anything, as a bodyguard) and checks her windows and locks so she's sure no one can get in. This obviously results in him having a boner most mornings lol.
Somewhere between giving her motorcycle lessons, being her flirty buddy and keeping her safe from the monsters in her nightmares, Ryke falls hard for Daisy and vice-versa.
But in true Ritchie fashion, it isn't until they're an ocean or two apart and Dais accidentally watches Ryke go down on another girl via Skype. Then he follows her to Paris and the rest is history..Kinda..
It's obviously more complicated than that. Why? Well there's the seven year age gap, the parental feuds and his brother's disapproval, to say the least.

This novel was beautiful and I loved every part. It was honestly so therapeutic and aesthetically pleasing to read, given that all the protagonists go through real issues.
In spite of that, I hoped that there'd be more description and thoughts regarding the..disfiguration ? Should the person have pondered getting surgery? Y'know? I wanted them to at least ponder it and to be told yes or no by everyone else.

Also, I didn't like that Daisy, the girl, was the only one who said aloud what everyone, especially the two of them, knew. Like her asking him if he liked her, etc. She slightly came across as needy in that sense but I guess his silent, reciprocating feelings made up for it.

It was written in Daisy and Rykes' alternating POVs and I LOLed at the warning message at the beginning from Ryke, re: his profanity. Swearing is what makes Ryke Ryke but sometimes it was a bit much. Case in point: ''Do you want to know the kind of restraint it takes to be in this f**king position with this f**king girl almost every f**king night without doing one f**king thing?

As I mentioned in the review for Kiss The Sky, Lily was described as a bit of a as a nail biting, nervous nelly with no spine. This kind of worsened ever so slightly. For example, *SPOILER ALERT KINDA* when Lo and Ryke go head to head, she could've stopped him, I mean he'd freeze in hell and burn in heaven for her. I get that they had to talk it out (in true, physical Hale-Meadows fashion) but maybe I'm biased in thinking that Ryke didn't deserve that.

Other than those little tidbits, this novel was a flawless masterpiece. Loved it sooooo much. And Daisy! She's such a cute, scatterbrained 'sweetheart'.

  • And with every daring event, I've been there, by her side, carrying her almost every time she's fallen.
  • She's beautiful because she can make the saddest person in the world grin. And she can make the loneliest guy feel something more.
  • ''Do you need a hug?'' Rose asks me. ''Because if you do, Lily can give you one.'' Lily looks at Rose like really?
  • "But instead, I just scream, releasing the anguish that rips apart my insides."
  • But Paris is my test. I want to pass, but a part of me wonder if it's even possible to be that fearless girl again. Maybe too much has changed to go back.
  • It tears my heart watching her recoil like that.
  • ''You've been through hell...Stop trying to be strong. Just f**king cry, Daisy. Scream. Yell. Be f**king angry''.
  • THE BANTER AGAIN: I nod to Connor. ''Hey Princess, you want to compete at chin-ups?''...''Jut get your ass to the pull up bar''. Lo stretches his arms. ''Hey, don't talk about his ass like that. ''You're making my first love jealous,'' Connor banters, heading to the bar with me
  • AGAIN: ''That's cute. Did you write that in your diary this morning?'' ''No, I read it from yours''
  • STAY BLESSED, LO: He's staring at the sky like he wishes he could settle among the stars for f**king eternity and never have to live this life.
  • ...kicking shit over and screaming at the top of my lungs..
  • I rarely ever f**king cry. I can count on one hand the number of times I've shed a f**king tear. ME TOO RYKEY
  • ''Wait a goddamn second,'' he says. I want to know how you are''. How am I? Numb, but my emotions try so hard to surface and pour through me. I could scream until my voice leaves me. I could run until my legs buckle beneath me. I could hit a wall until exhaustion defeats me.
  • Instead her eyes brighten, hypnotized by the darkness inside of mine.
  • The biggest kindergarten response pops up in my head. It's. Not. Fucking. Fair
  • And I watch it burn, right along with my thoughts
  • ''I'd f**king fight for you, Dais. You just have to let me''
  • ''You are your own anchor, Ryke. When you fail, you hurt yourself more than anyone else. Do you want to keep burning or are you going to let yourself rise?''
  • BONUS: You are your own achor. Do you want to keep burning or are you going to let yourself rise? No more dragging myself down. I'm finally ready to rise
  • ROSE, YOU SAVAGE: ''If you hurt her, I'll personally snip off your balls and hang them on the Christmas tree this year''.
  • He keeps a lot in his head, and that's partly the reason I like him. The mystery of his actions. The danger he wears in his dark eyes.
  • She turns her head to catch the sunrise..''It's gorgeous...' It has nothing on her.
  • ''I'll get over it. Just...give me f*cking time''
  • I ping-pong from wanting to laugh or wanting to stay quiet
  • Lo and Rose have been fighting for the past ten minutes, and unfortunately Lo's go-to move is to throw popcorn at her.
  • I climb onto the f*king ledge next to her, and she stiffens at my presence, some of the hunour exiting her face. ''What?'' I snap. ''You jump, I jump.''
  • I point at her heart. ''There's something in there, and if you don't burst, it's going to f**king tear you apart.'
  • ''Explode'', I tell her, still cupping her face...''What?'' ''Let it out,'' I say. ''Scream''.
  • ''Why are you holding back? No-one's f**king here but you and me!...Stop pretending to be fine when all you really want to do is f**king scream?!''
★ ★ ★ ★  5 stars!!

BOOK REVIEW: Kiss The Sky by Krista Ritchie and Becca Ritchie

At this moment in time, I'm sure you're bored of me raving about the Addicted series. But here I am, intro-ing the FOURTH novel in this series in less than a fortnight.

I elaborated the 'FOURTH' part because less than a month ago, I couldn't even stomach the thought of reading another book. As a book lover, I hit a rough patch. So thank you to K & B Ritchie for making this alternate world with very real, very Earthy problems. Also thanks to myself for remembering this was in the middle of a vrey long (very overwhelming) TBR list.

I want to make this brief because my Nytol is supposed to kick in soon.

20658510Virgin. Sex addict. Daredevil. Alcoholic. Smartass … Jackass. Her five friends are about to be filmed. Reality TV, be prepared.

Rose Calloway thought she had everything under control. At twenty-three, she’s a Princeton graduate, an Academic Bowl champion, a fashion designer and the daughter of a Fortune 500 mogul. But with a sex addict as a sister and roommate, nothing comes easy.

After accepting help from a producer, Rose agrees to have her life filmed for a reality television show. The Hollywood exec is her last chance to revive her struggling fashion line, and boundaries begin to blur as she’s forced to make nice with a man who always has his way.

Twenty-four-year-old Connor Cobalt is a guy who bulldozes weak men. He’s confident, smart-as-hell and lives with his equally ambitious girlfriend, Rose Calloway. Connor has to find a way to protect Rose without ruining the show. Or else the producer will get what Connor has always wanted—Rose’s virginity.

This New Adult Romance can be described as Friends meets The Real World. Expect fist fights, drugs, sex of varying degrees, crude humor and competitive alpha males. Definitely for mature readers audiences only.

New Adult Romance recommended for readers 18+ for mature content
GENRE: Romance, Contemporary, New Adult (NA)
AUTHOR: Krista Ritchie
SOURCE: Bought, ebook
RELEASE DATE: February 20th 2014

Okay, so I was initially quite apprehensive about starting this novel. Don't pull out the pitchforks yet, though. I thought Connor and Rose were romantic and all but just...they were no Lily and Lo. And Connor was an academic savage but was he really a romantic savage?

H O L Y S H * T is all I've got to say. Goodbye.

Jk, jk. So this was an intriguing book, to say the least. The sales of Rose's fashion line, Calloway Couture, has hit an all time low since Lily's scandal (or is 'outing' the more appropriate term?') and so the only way to build it all up again is to let people love her family and friends, see their clothes and hear out Lily and Lo. How, you ask? Write a book? Build a museum? Hold a meet and greet with dress up characters and a Q & A?

Noooo fam. Reality show. So Rose, Lily, Daisy, Lo, Connor and Ryke move into a townhouse together and are pegged the virgin, sex addict, daredevil,  alcoholic, smartass and jackass, respectively. They are followed around by two camermen, one camerawoman and an annoying producer called Scott.

It ends up being a big success due to all the fighting and fun. Oh, and the show is called Princesses of Philly. (I saw an edit on Tumblr early on in the series and thought it was called 'We Are The Calloways').

One thing that stood out was when Lo and Lily were explaining terms like 'ship', 'canon' and all those fandom terms to the rest. It was so funny and I relate!!

There ends up being another huge Calloway girl scandal at the end, resulting in blood, sweat and tears.

Oooh and another thing that sticks out is the RELATIONSHIP/FRIENDSHIP OF RAISY

**UPDATE:: This is being continued two days later because yes, the Nytol kicked in and I temporarily lost my laptop (under the bed, grrrr).

Where was I? Ah, yes. So they're being followed around being wild and reckless and judged, as well.
Yes, as a result of the show, they're very famous now.

This novel was so funny and great and downright fun to read! Rose is a gem (no pun intended). I love how the two snobs of the group like to be rough in bed...which brings me onto my next point.

I myself am not into the whole BDSM, tie-up the girl with a collar on thing. Connor clearly was and it was described pretty cool, not making me freak out that much. This is actually the only way I'd picture these snobs to go down on each other lol.

Okay! Moving on- I kind of didn't like the way Lily was described in certain situations. Like, yes she blushes and all. But came across as a nail biting, nervous nelly with no spine. (This slightly increased in Hothouse Flower).

Props to Frederick, Connor's therapist for being a cracker! Honestly, I wanted to see more of him.

(Honestly, this is my favourite part of reviewing)
  • ''Kiss the sky with me,'' Connor whispers, a beautiful smile pulling his lips, ''and don't ever come down''.
  • ''He has put trust into other people, whereas I'd rather kill myself trying to do it alone''.
  • ''I don't want to fall. I never have before''.
  • ''Leaving me to my own f**cking thoughts''.
  • CONNOR IS GOALS. Case in point: '''Can you fix my mascara?'' I ask in a whisper. ''Look up'', he tells me. I stare at the ceiling while his thumb removes the black smudges I've caused.''
  • ''You're going to f**cking hell for this!'' Ryke says with darkness swirling in his brown eyes.
  • ''-Washing away his own fury with alcohol. I smile. Because we cope in the same way. Not usually with drinking, but with pulling our shoulders back and taking it like a f**cking champ.''
  • ''His eyes swim in mine, as if searching for my mental state. I'm f**cking fine, I want to scream back. But I choose to take another large swig of the biting whiskey''.
  • GOTTA LOVE LOREN. Case in point: '''Rose, not to lecture you at this really sensitive time in your life,'' Loren says, ''but that's not how you drink whiskey. And as an expert in liquor, it offends me''.
  • ''LET ME AT HIM!'' Daisy screams...''HE HIT MY SISTER!'' ''Say it a little louder, Dais!'' Ryke shouts at her. ''The world can't f**cking hear you!''
  • '''Tell him I hate him''. ''Any other messages?'' I look at Ryke. ''Tell him to f**k himself.'' I nod. ''Didn't expect anything eloquent''.'
  • 'Ryke struggles in my grip, and he turns on me for a second. ''I swear to whatever f**king weird god you believe in, Connor, if you don't let me beat the shit out of him, I'm going to f**king punch you in the face''.
  • 'Ryke and Daisy stare at each other for a long moment that's filled with words I can't hear and things I can't read.'
  • I want her to experience as many firsts with me as she possibly can.
  • I want to protect her. From everything, even herself.
  • She'd grab an old fur coat and scream, muffling the noises in the clothes. She made sure to have her mental breakdowns in private. Even in her madness, there's still a level control.
  • She screams again, a high-pitched wail that rips out my heart.
  • Why is the most significant person in her life her saviour and her demon?
  • I can't save that kid from his demons, and watching him drown is not a show I want a front row seat to.
  • THE GUYS' BANTER WAS TOO MUCH. 'Ryke nods to me. ''Go ahead, princess.'' ''Stop, you're making me blush'', I say flatly.
  • ''I'm toasting first a the wedding, just so you know. I'm afraid you'll scare the children''. ''Fuck you''. ''My point exactly''.
  • RAISY FEELS BE LIKE 'For as much as I give Ryke a hard time, I can't imagine another person with a kinder soul'.
  • Ryke and I exchange a look before staring back down at Daisy. She rubs her temple, her long hair tangled at her waist. ''I feel really short when you guys do that whole towering over me thing''. DAISY IS 5'11 FOR CRYING OUT LOUD ><
  • ''You're wearing your emotions''. Ryke tries to blanket his face with contentedness.
  • ''One that only Rose can enter'' Loren banters. ''I'll let you in sometime, darling. Don't worry''.
  • RYKE <3 ''Blondes or brunettes?'' Lo stares harshly. ''Brunettes''. ''I don't give a sh*t sbout hair colour'', Ryke says..'
  • ''Momma Calloway is going to ream your ass..Good look, bro''. ''You're enjoying my distress way too f**king much.'' ''It keeps my life bright''.
  • ROSE IS ME #HEELSGALS 'I feel so short without high heels on. I look up.'
  • If you're drowning, you f**king drown
  • ''and trust me when I say that you won't ever see more than I give you''.
  • She's drowning in her beautiful f**king mind
You could say I had time today lol. No, I loved the dry humour, sarcasm and jokes from these guys, with Connor leading.

Today I'm giving y'all a double (SPOILER FREE) review of this new series I've sacrificed my everything for. To check out my review of book #1 then please click the :)

With reference to the title because it's not at all obvious, (my mama says my sarcasm stinks O_o) I'm going to be reviewing Ricochet and Addicted for Now, respectively right now!

*Real quick: Ricochet is a bonus novel after #1 but is needed to be read to tie together #1 and #2. And who's really going to say no to extra books in this series?

Ricochet (Addicted #1.5)
22296725As a sex addict, Lily Calloway must do the impossible. Stay celibate for 90 days.

Cravings and fantasies become her new routine, but while Loren Hale recovers from his alcohol addiction, Lily wonders if he’ll realize what a monster she really is. After all, her sexual compulsions begin to rule her life the longer she stays faithful to him.

Progress. That’s what Lily’s striving for. But by trying to become closer to her family—people who aren’t aware of her addiction—she creates larger obstacles. When she spends time with her youngest sister, she learns more about her than she ever imagined and senses an unsettling connection between Daisy and Ryke Meadows.

With Lily and Lo’s dysfunctional relationship teetering and unbalanced, they will need to find a way to reconnect from miles apart. But the inability to “touch” proves to be one of the hardest tests on their road to recovery. Some love brushes the surface. Some love is deeper than skin.

I was so excited to delve deep into this book straight after the effects of the first novel. It's kinda in the blurb, so hopefully not a spoiler but Lo goes to (hint: *plays Rehab by Rihanna ft. JT)
It quickly moved time along, and I thank my holy stars that Ritchie didn't pull a Stephanie Meyer in New Moon, re: Edward's absence.

Lily lives life, in a sense that involves her recovering from her sex addiction and mending fences with her family.

My BAE Ryke is her guardian angel  (swooooon, what a gentleman *heart eyes m'f**ker) and watches over her, mainly because he doesn't trust her around the opposite gender. Their banter is hilarious and I was rooting for Raisy (we'll get to that later). However, it stung me in my heartless space when Ryke mentioned (oh, so casually, might I add) that he doesn't approve of our Li-Lo relationship.

One part that is currently on my mind for infinity is when Lily, Daisy (her youngest, fashion model, naive and dare-devily sister), Ryke and Daisy's friends go to Acapulco, Mehico to celebrate her sweet sixteen on a yacht.
THE BANTER BETWEEN RAISY WAS PRICELESS. I'm gonna try to include some quotes, but was obsessively and aggressively turning virtual pages on my poor iPhone. Despite the seven year gap between Raisy, I'm rooting for them (fun fact: I'm attracted to older guys. Not old. Older. And am holding out for their novel, Hothouse Flower).

Back to the topic at hand, Lily proved strong, even through her many moments of weakness in this novel. At the end of the day, she's an addict who needs her fix.
Rose was a doll in this book. Love her.

This novel is written in Lily's POV (I write this because the next one, is not).

All in all, it was A GREAT AND POWERFUL AND BRILLANT AND BEAUTIFUL NOVEL. It's in my top two fave in this series (I already know my #1 fave is gonna be Hothouse Flower #Raisy

*Had to get these from Goodreads rather than highlighting them on iBooks because I was SO, CONSUMED I didn't have time to stop and pick a virtual colour.

  • “You don't make me miserable. You make me want to live. And I want to live with you.”
  • “Fine. Such a stupid word really. It feels empty and weightless. It’s the kind of word you use to hide the truth.”
  • “Hate to break it to you, but sex is ten times better than skydiving.”
    “No it’s not,” she rebuts.
Ryke leans forward on his char a little. “Then whoever fucked you didn’t do it right, sweetheart.”
  • “I'd always let him catch me.”
  • ''It's what we don't say that hurts the most''
  • ''You could have died'', he growls, his eyes narrowing with such anger- I would have already cowered back. Daisy has her shoulders locked tight, her head held heigh, resolute. Ryke is right. Nothing scares her.

Onto the next review! (Awarding this one 4.5 stars)

22296819No. More. Sex.

Those are the three words Lily Calloway fears the most. But Loren Hale is determined to be with Lily without enabling her dangerous compulsions. With their new living situation—sleeping in the same bed, for real, together—Lily has new battles. Like not jumping Lo’s bones every night. Not being consumed by sex and his body.

Loren plans to stay sober, to right all of his wrongs. So when someone threatens to expose Lily’s secret to her family and the public, he promises that he’ll do anything to protect her. But with old enemies surfacing, Lo has more at stake than his sobriety.

They will torment Lily until Lo breaks.

And his worst fear isn’t relapsing. He hears the end. He sees it. The one thing that could change everything. Just three words.

This !! one !! was !! fire !!
No joke. I was getting serious Pretty Little Liars feels in this one. So basically someone know's Lily's secret! And it will ruin her dad's business and rep, Lo's dad's business and rep and everyone's businesses and reps because we're dealing with the Rich Kids of Philly...or New York, I actually don't know because the scenes change then they're soooo vague.
But anyways she's getting tormenting texts, as is Lo and even getting rather kinky packages mailed to her to spite her. Dun dun dun!

My crew band together to not only test loyalties of their enemies but also of themselves.

Now. This novel was great, to say the least. I literally finished this in two nights! It was soooo good. And to make it even better, Ryke and Daisy were f l i r t i n g eeeeeeeeeeee in Mehico eeeeeeeeee.
And he saved her from absinthe and it was effing beautiful.

The person who taunted and tormented Lily and Lo was such a shocker!! Did not see it coming, and I even tried to figure it out (kinda. Does saying oh it could be him! It could be her! To every secondary character count)

Rose, Lily, Connor, Lo and Ryke went to Mexico for Spring Break and HOLY HELL. Oh, Ryke took a somewhat-girlfriend named Melissa. And honestly, even though she was used, I would've loved to be her, just to hang out with the coolest *tear* fictional group ever.

I'm going to end it on this note: This book has beat some of my old times faves and that's rare. It'll defo be one I'll go back to just because.

Can you give a book 100 stars??
